Not to prolong this, but funnily enough, I just received a survey from
eMusic. I've copied below some of the more interesting questions.
Aside from the poor design of the survey (I'm a market researcher), this
is pretty revealing stuff. I think their goal is to use this to prove
to labels/bands what I've been proposing: that eMusic causes people to
buy more music overall and that subscribers are hesitant to go beyond
the service to buy albums they may want. One thing I'm surprised about
is that in question 11 they didn't include concert tickets, unless
that's what they mean by "other merchandise".
