I don't think you can ever tell whether creating music is easy or hard -
it depends on the musicians, the recording process, down to the individual
song. I mean didn't Paul McCartney (please don't start another Macca
thread) once say that "Yesterday" popped from his head almost fully
formed? Jimmy Lea said that Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody (maybe a novelty
hit, but quite a wistful melody and clever arrangement, if you take the
Xmas factor out of the equation) was bashed out in about half-an-hour.

I am guessing here, but maybe the creation of the music comes more easily
than does it's recording and production? Maybe some people are more
perfectionist than others? Maybe sometimes pursuit of perfection is to
the detriment of spontaneity? I just don't think it's right to generalise
whether making music has to be either easy or difficult.

Rob, I've posted before that the first 4 tracks off Repeater are just
about the finest opening salvos of any album I own. You said the guys
really sweated over their creation - believe me the results were worth it.
Do the members of Splitsville have "day jobs", either in or outwith the
music business? Incidentally which brother is Matt - the drummer or the
guitarist - and is he the Pale Star?
