This is simple economics folks...... SUPPLY and DEMAND.
There's an unbelievable amount of music being made out there
and every artist wants a piece of the big pie. The internet and digitizing
of music makes access easier and is moving the market toward one giant
mix tape trade scenario (just look at LimeWire).
Music is becoming like water...
you can get alot of it for free...and pay a little extra for the good stuff.
As an artist who has shaved about 75% off previous recording studio budgets
by
being able to record at home now (tahnk you ProTools and eBay)...I'm less
concerned about recouping my costs than I was...say 4 or 5 years ago. As
such,
I'm more inclined to sell my music at a lower cost.
That being said...
I'd still be tickled if anyone bought the new Well Wishers. ...or even jsut
a single
download on iTunes. :-)
