from an artist/label perspective
same album:
itunes: $50
emusic - $2.00 (3-4 times the downloads as iTunes)
-------
from a consumer perspective:
yayyyyyy!!!!!!
---------
from an artist/label second opinion
if you see emusic as a promo way to get the music out there, it's not
so bad (we send out promos
and review copies that cost us way more for even less return)
as long as you are getting income from itunes, mail order, snocap,
live sales, and other sources.
if emusic is your only digital outlet....hmmmm...
i have no problem with any of it once you put it in its proper context...
i want my music out there - that's why I have a store in Second Life,
why I have a booth at
arts fairs and comic cons, why i do a lot of stuff in general....
it's a cumulative effect....
i'm even thinking of having the label itself go on tour... why not?
hahahaaa... why not a BUNCH of
labels on tour like those bookstores on wheels.... why not?
