I'll second this emotion. I love Big Star, but simultaneously think they are overrated in some quarters through no fault of their own.
The problem (IMO) arises when you consider just how many other bands there are who are also wonderful and underappreciated are
again and again eclipsed with every gushing mention of Big Star.
