Why I'm too old for festivals, Part 23:

From Dave Lewis' review of Coachella in today's Daily Variety, which like most of the press from that night, focused on the reunion of Rage Against The Machine:

"Falling far short of the riot-fueled chaos that some Coachella attendees predicted --indeed, the Palm Springs police were a much stronger presence than in previous years-- the Rage crowd nonetheless created a massive human vortex, complete with smaller mosh pits orbiting the larger grouping in front of the stage.

Bearing the brunt of impatient Rage fans was the freshly resurrected Crowded House, whose smart, well-honed adult pop was all but drowned out by chants of "Rage! Rage!"

Crowded House frontman Neil Finn took it all in stride, even laughing it off when he was pelted by a water bottle thrown from the crowd."

Assholes. Rage, indeed.
