I could not stand the beach boys for years. I had a friend whose
mother played nothing but the HITS all the time in the summer.
I just thought they were one dimensional. Then I started
reading The Big Takeover. Jack Rabid is a hige Beach Boys fan.
The passion with which he wrote about the band, Wilson and the
songs one never hears on the radio prompted me to investigate
further. Columbia House was clearing out all the 2-fers at 2.99
so I bought them all. Not all magical of course, but overall
a magical body of work. Maybe not for everyone of course, but
then besides The Beatles :) who is?
