Thanks for the cool interview, Will.

Pete Trewavas was involved in the writing and
recording of my all-time favorite progressive rock
album, 2001's "Bridge Across Forever" by prog
'supergroup' Transatlantic (Mike Portnoy of Dream
Theater, Neal Morse of Spock's Beard, Roine Stolt of
The Flower Kings and Pete Trewavas of Marillion).

For any music fan who relishes the craft of
songwriting, I urge you to check this album out. It's
basically one amazing song from start to finish (even
though there are actually four songs), and includes a
10-minute piece that is the band's nod to the Beatles,
a mini-suite called "Suite Charlotte Pike" that is
reminiscent of the medley on side two of Abbey Road.

As a songwriter and musician, this album blows my mind
on so many levels; the skill with which the band
interweaves musical and lyrical themes between the
four songs is unbelievably cool. After all these years
I'm STILL hearing new things. I think this is the most
cohesive rock and roll album ever made; it flows like
a river and seems to be over in five minutes -- which,
when you're dealing with twenty-minute songs, says a
lot.

The melodies are wonderful, catchy, hooky, whatever
you wanna call it, and all four members sing at
various points. However, acknowledged Beatle Geek(tm)
Neal Morse sings the bulk of the songs and anyone
familir with his work in Spock's and solo knows what I
mean when I say he is incredible.

One of these days I'm going to sit down and write a
comprehensive piece about this record, but for the
meantime, forgive me my scattered thoughts...and
thanks again, Will, for the cool interview.
