Jeff,
I have read both you and Michael's messages very carefully.First off,I agree
with you 100%.I stated from the start how old fashioned I am and have yet to
embrace downloading music. You mention that perhaps you are "missing
something" in regards to paying $24 for a 12 track album. Here's the scary
thing about that, and what you are missing.Read David's mission statement
carefully. He is saying he no longer wants the pressure of having to come up
with enough tunes to fill an album. So he is offering you each new song as he
competes them.Michael mentioned this in his reply. So in David's mind, you are
paying the artist $2 for his latest creation.A stand alone song. And you are
receiving this new creation without waiting for a release date.He is
essentially re-writing the "rules" of releasing music so to speak. No more
ep's or albums.Just new songs. At least that is how I read his statement.
The interesting thing about Michael's reply was an actual artist[top
notch-first rate]thinking all of this through. The times are a changing and
will this work?Is this a sign of the future? It was kind of fascinating to
get his perspective. That is what makes Audities so special.
As far as the samples go,well where's my frosty drink to toast both you and
Michael.I respect David.Love what I have heard thus far.But it seems a bit
pretentious not to allow a sample of those new creations to be heard before
purchase.
