Pitchsuck is too caught up in their own celebrity to be taken seriously.
The new FOW is brimming with catchy songs, great vignettes and is wall to
wall solid for me. It doesn't have an obvious breakout single, though
several are instant faves.
FOW's only weakness, if you want to call it that, is that some of their
songs are so character-focused that they don't have a universal appeal.
Rather than write a love song about some girl that everyone can identify
with, they write third person observations (or speaking from that third
person vantage point). Those who appreciate the craft will ove the album.
Those looking to place themselves in the songs might have a harder
time...you're not going to use most of these lyrics to woo anyone.
I think they are 4-for-4.
