Young men mostly vascillate.

And on a different note, I am currently loving:

Midlake "trials of van occupanther" - a review said
"the best America album they never made," but it
sounds like Neil Young all over to me. Slightly eerie
and plaintive harmonies that i just adore; and, in a
couple songs, mid-song swells with the kind of
resigned urgency that you get when you know you're
aren't going to get where you're going but you feel
like you should still hurry anyway - check out my fave
"head home".

Broken West "i can't go on, i'll go on" - lots of
poppy gloss on here to please auditeers...I was hooked
from the very fine zombies'ish chorus in "Brass Ring"
and slightly alt-countryish "down in the valley", but
the real winner here for me after many listens is "Big
City", a claps n' high-hat piano stomp that just
sticks in ya. Or sticks in me. YMMV, as has been
pointed out. If you liked Waxwing's first, or even
Ambulance LTD in spots...

And this might be older, I'm not sure, but Bobby
Bare's Jr's Criminal Starvation League "longest meow",
for his weird hoarse voice and tweaky lyrics - "heart
bionic" and "lend me your cape" are both the very
songs to kick of a summer road trip. I kind of
remember what summer is like, though in chicago it
comes so infrequently...but this album brings it back.
Maybe if you like Centro*matic or Milton Mapes, an
open horizen above the open road, a six of Lone Star,
and a '72 Dodge Dart with no air conditioner that
smells faintly of stale sweat and Cheezits.
