Re: the Lewis Taylor thread from a few days ago. I'd never have thought
about a Rundgrenesque link, given that all I have heard so far is Stoned.
But I can easily imagine it, now that somebody else mentions it. And upon
some re-listening in the past couple days, I guess we ought to probe the
Brian Wilson link, too, because "Melt Away" could easily be ganked
directly from one of the Beach Boys' best efforts. It's remarkable,
really, that he can drop that tune into that record without it sounding
incredibly out of place, but he does.
I hate hearing the news that he's retiring. He's just way too
talented....
