Okay, I'm mentally exhausted from reading endless online articles,
trying
to figure out the best way, if there is one, of defeating Macrovision
VHS copy protection. I'd like to make a DVD from my near-pristine VHS
version of this fine (and wholly under-rated and under-appreciated, for
the most part, though I know I'm preaching to the choir when it comes to
many auditeers) program. It's another of those "how can this not be out
on DVD?" thingies (my favorite Harrison-ism). At this point, I'd pay
one of you kind folks who may be able to accomplish this task for me. I
can watch the Anthology DVD series in toto, and STILL get something I've
not gotten
anywhere else out of The Compleat Beatles. Maybe it's Roddy McDowell's
narration ... Anyway, I'd love to convert it while the tape is still in
such excellent condition.
Also, I'm in the market for the "Let It Be" DVD (US, NTSC) if anyone has
one for sale. Any advice on purchasing same (via ebay or any other site)
would be most sincerely appreciated. There seem to be many versions in
many different formats and LOTS of CD-R's masked as "real" DVD's. I'm
baffled.
BTW, many folks are selling the Compleat Beatles tape on ebay for around
$10 (U.S.) if anyone's interested in checking it out.

NP (tonight) on DVD: "The Making of HELP!" via Netflix. I'll report
back ... I've not seen this before.
