Hi--Nothing up to the minute here (as they have been on the road for an
eternity) but any other folks in Auditiesland seen the Texas Songwriter Tour
starring Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt and Joe Ely? I caught the show
in San Diego last night and it was brilliant. Guy is the father figure held
in awe by the other three and Lyle (no longer quite sporting the
"Eraserhead" look these days) is a perfect straight man for the jokes of
honorary Texan (he's actually from Indiana) John. Joe still personifies rock
and roll swagger, even in an acoustic setting.
All are incredible songwriters and Hiatt is the killer guitarist of the
bunch. Any other witnesses to this tour of jaw-dropping greatness?
