Can't say that I dislike her or love her. Musically and production wise they are fine songs that a lot of people grab onto emotionally. I actually enjoyed her first English album that had a few uptempo songs on it along with the ballad style that she would be so popular for in the years to come.

Her music doesn't grab me emotionally the way it does a number of friends of mine but I don't hate her or her music. I'm not running to see her in concert either. So I guess I'm one of those in the middle. This is coming from someone who had to sit behind an air console for over fifteen years playing her songs every day at work so trust me when I say that I've heard her music a great deal. It could just be that I block her out whenever her songs begin to play and after those funny skits from Ana Gastheyer on "Saturday Night Live" I'm sure it's hard to see her the same. In Celine's defense, Ana's portrayal was just a comedic character most likely not based at all on Celine's personal nature, but still very funny!

There were some songs here or there that grabbed my attention but as the years have gone by...I've forgotten the song titles and melody. I'd know them if I heard them but ask me to pull one out of my head outside of remakes (Ike and Tina Turner, Eric Carmen) and film songs ("Titanic", "UpClose & Personal") I'd be slow to come up with something. The first song that I ever heard from her was called "Where Does My Heart Beat Now?" back in 1990 from her "Unison" album which was a powerful song upon the first listen. I didn't realize that I would hear it over a thousand times since then. Holy moly...I just realized that I've been hearing her music for seventeen years. Can't beat success. She has done quite well compared to many acts back in 1990 and current acts.
