The Crickets were obviously the Beatles' (et al!) template,
musically, visually even,
plus they..... Wrote and arranged their own songs
(and recorded them
in a studio-as-experimental-playground atmosphere
thanks to their very own Gerorge Martin: Norman Petty).
I've said it before,
but Please let me say it again:
The (musical) Sixties began in Clovis, New Mexico
circa February 1957.
