Live and let live?  Can't we credit music fans with sufficient
intelligence to differentiate between two bands with the same name?

Having said that, I could cheerfully throttle Beulah (the female solo
artist) for giving me false hope in record shops.

Regarding the name changes for British bands, I'm not sure if it has
been made clear that these name changes have generally been in the US
only.  In other territories, their original name remains, as US law
doesn't extend to the rest of the world (insert satirical snipe here).
 I don't know anything about American bands called the Charlatans or
Suede, but I doubt their international sales suffered from having
British namesakes.  Perhaps this will be the case for the Baskervilles
too.
