Actually, that's incorrect. The Gold/Gouldmann Wax preceded the punk band
Wax (with my friend Dave Georgeff a/k/a Birdie Cutlass on bass). The Wax
U.K.'s debut came out in 1986. At that point, the punk Wax hadn't even
formed (I know -- I was working with Dave at Sound Warehouse - the band
formed a few years later in L.A.). So there was some other band named Wax
that predated Wax U.K.
