Tangentially: I saw 'The Lask King of Scotland' Tuesday night, and I
have to say the Ugandan-dance-band version of 'Me and Bobby McGee' was
certainly ... interesting! (As was the African version of 'Loch
Lomond.') Now that I think of it, the soundtrack overall was quite
good. But that was the only pop song I recognised.
