For newborns, I like to send a copy of Jason Falkner's Bedtime with the Beatles to like minded pop parents (hello amy and gary/ garrick and leighann!) nothing gets the kid off on the right foot then their first package from not lame!
We had wonderful luck this Christmas with our "Little Child" CDR that we made for the nieces who are around 4.5 years old. They loved dancing around the livingroom with Auntie Beth to strains of Drive My Car, I wanna hold your hand, etc. Reminded me of being their age and discovering my folks old copy of Meet The Beatles and dancing around the basement to it, hence the name Little Child. If you are interested I can send you the track listing we used.
Will have to check out hte Fairwood Singers when I get home from work, but for now--- Go Eichler!
