Wanna know WHY Kiss is so greedy?

They had been ripped off and underpaid by the previously bankrupt Casablanca
Records and used their own stash of cash to get them through the '80s before
going totally broke in 1987/88 (because the Casablanca civil suits led to a
dead end). They were also losing 25% of their gross revenue every show
because of their massive stage set up, crew and transportation (whom were
getting taken care of quite well, thank you).

It's the reason they toured as openers for bands like Whitesnake and used NO
stage lighting or pyro for the first time ever during the "Hot In The Shade"
Tour. Simmons was granted the keys to the band's business and has driven
them back to a full-time income ever since. Every dime they now have they
accumulated SINCE 1990.

Ken Sharp maybe able to elaborate further.
