You should check out http://bookmooch.com/ - I get free books in the mail
almost every day. (I also send out a couple of books a week).

Not trying to be a smartass, but have you tried the library? I'm not in the 
biggest city in the world and most of these books are in stock. Since no one

reads anymore, I am able to get them quickly. Borders also has a very 
liberal read-with-your-coffee policy. :)

I realize you might be looking to buy them, but just thought I'd offer up an

alternative. You could also try googling online booksellers and requesting 
from those located in major markets - stranger things have happened.
