I'm thinking that was why I missed the openers as well. Haven't thought
about They Eat Their Own in ages. I did see them at Metro one late show.
Not great.
I saw The Replacements twice in 1991. Once in early Feb and the other at
their infamous 7/4/91 final show at Grant Park.
But back to the Feb show. One of my favorite lines of all-time came as a
result of this show. As I was leaving the Aragon Ballroom after the
show, some guy ran up to me trying to sell me a bag of various stolen
meat. He said, "c'mon man, you know it's gotta be good- it's so hot it's
still cold."
I almost bought bootleg bacon just out of respect for a killer line like
that. But before I could do anything, he ran off just as quickly as he
ran up to me...

According to a newspaper clipping I have from the 1991 tour they
played in the Boston area with They Eat Their Own opening. The Philly
listing doesn't mention the opener so I don't know if TETO was their
support on the whole tour or a local band. I was usually at a pre-
party or the bar during these gigs so I don't think I ever saw one of
the openers...
