Gene,
Thanks, I'll check out Obsession.  Brian DePalma was pretty notorious for 
using Hitchcock themes for his early movies.

You are probably aware, but Terry Gilliam took many of the themes and music 
from Vertigo and placed them into his film 12 Monkeys. I remember the scene 
when the doomed lovers, (Bruce Willis and an actress whose name escapes me) 
are hiding out in an old movie house that just happens to be playing that 
famous scene from Vertigo  And just like the characters in Vertigo, you just 
knew that things were not going to end well for those folks.
