First it was Blur. Then the absolutely wild cool inventiveness of
Gorillaz. Now Damon Albarn is hooked up with Paul Simonon (Clash), Simon
Tong (Verve) and Tony Allen (Africa 70) in a project called The Good, The
Bad and The Queen. Hard to describe - sorta like Gorillaz meet the Eels,
maybe. Just fantastic.
Albarn is somebody who's very clearly concerned with taking music new and
interesting places, and so far he's done it in a variety of genres. I'm
more impressed by his work with each passing effort. I hope he never gets
complacement....
