"Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin comes to mind. I remember being sad
while listening to this in my early teen years.
I don't know that I've heard it in at least 20 years. Maybe it's not as sad
as I remember.
I wanna think there was a Jim Croce song or two back then that had their sad
moments.
When I went off to college I ended up breaking up with a girlfriend of two
years back home so I could concentrate on school. I'm not sure how sad the
songs were but I remember listening to Shoes first three or four albums
exclusively for a month.
