Stewart (and everyone else) --

I've always found the whole guilty pleasures thing to be a bit of a cop out.
If I like music, I like it, though sometimes I can't explain why - it's
just sounds good. The notion of being guilty for liking ABBA or America or
The Lemon Pipers or Ram Jam (Portrait of the Artist as a Young Ram is
awesome) because they don't meet some Rolling Stone approved standard of
hipness is just plain wrong.

However, I'm not 100% against the concept, I just think that it is narrowly
defined. For me, a guilty pleasure is usually when an excreable artist puts
out a song I like. For example, Warrant was a loathesome band. But damn,
"Down Boys" was catchy and well-crafted. Even then, I can defend the song,
not the artist. I'm having a hard time of thinking of anything in my
collection that I'd only reluctantly admit to liking.

Anyone else feel like this?

Mike
