Fair assessment. Sting's starpower was what put Police over the top compared
to say XTC (well, Partsy's breakdown and refusal to play live killed off any
chance of commercial success) or Talking Heads. But always felt that the
contributions of Copeland and Summers have been severely underrated.
Copeland was a fantastic drummer of intricate power and Summer's guitar
style would influence U2, the shoegazers and Radiohead, Coldplay in the
modern context.
Yes, it would be fun to finally watch them live in Singapore as well. I can
only dream can't I?
