   Many, many thanks to the folk who replied to my post. Lots of interesting 
suggestions - some I already have (Giles Smith/Barney Hoskyns/Ian MacDonald) 
but many I'm sure I'll pick up in the near future (Geoff Emerick/Nick Tosche 
rereleased in the UK soon!).
   Getting back to Jacob Slichter/Semisonic: a young Gary Littleton sent me 
an advance copy of GREAT DIVIDE with the scribbled note: "Brand New Baby is 
fucking amazing!". Thus began my love affair with the band. Both AUDITIES 
magazine and later POPSIDED opened my eyes and ears to countless bands that 
I'd never encountered before and the hours of pleasure I've gotten from them 
can never be measured. Gary, I salute you sir!
