We do a weekly feature on Bullz-Eye called Mix Disc Monday, and I'm putting
together one where the song titles are the names of musicians.and just the
names of musicians. Setting aside the Wesley Willis discography, can anyone
help me out with ideas beyond these.?
1. SR-71, "Paul McCartney" (Now You See Inside) (and, yes, I know
there's a song with the same title on the Scissor Sisters' Ta-Dah album)
2. The Outfield, "John Lennon" (Diamond Days)
3. The Replacements, "Alex Chilton" (Pleased to Meet Me)
4. Paul Melancon, "Jeff Lynne" (Camera Obscura)
5. Barenaked Ladies, "Brian Wilson" (Gordon)
6. Weezer, "Buddy Holly" (Weezer)
7. Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, "Johnny Cash" (A World Without
Dave)
8. Cake, "Frank Sinatra (Fashion Nugget)
9. Josh Joplin Group, "Phil Ochs" (Useful Music)
10. The Old 97s, "Ray Charles" (Early Tracks)
11. Fatboy Slim, "Michael Jackson" (Better Living Through Chemistry)
12. The Posies, "Grant Hart" (Amazing Disgrace)
13. R.E.M., "Lightnin' Hopkins" (Document)
14. Nine Days, "Bob Dylan" (Madding Crowd)
15. William Pears, "Johnny Rotten" (William Pears)
Best,
WiLL
