BTW - The English words were translated by Canada's Lisa Dalbello...a
wicked Kate Bush meets Peter Gabriel anti-mainstream artist (though
Heart chose to cover her "Black On Black" a few albums ago). And in
the same vein, bassist/vocalist David Lodge from 1970s pop act Major
Hoople's Boarding House wrote the English translation of Peter
Schilling's "Major Tom" and several other tracks on Schilling's
English language debut "Error In The System".
Speaking of Peter Schilling and Kate Bush, maybe somebody here can answer
one for me. Schilling had a single a few years after "Major Tom" called
"A Different Story (World of Lust and Crime)" which I always thought was
a better track. There's a female vox part on it, and the singer sounds a
lot like Bush. Except I'm pretty sure it isn't her. Anybody know who the
singer might have been?
