Off the top of my head, one of my guilty pleasures is Britney Spears'
"Toxic" and I heard a killer cover of it performed by Nickel Creek at Austin
City Limits Festival. Travis and Fountains of Wayne covers of Hit Me Baby
One More Time aren't too bad either...lol ;-).
There's a recent favorite that I almost labelled as a guilty pleasure. But
why be shy or chicken about it, I thought. I love his voice and the fact
that he's...uh, easy on the eyes, is simply a bonus (pardon the fangirl
moment there <grin>). And that is...Paolo Nutini. He's already made a splash
in the UK but his debut record "These Streets" was just released in the US
earlier this week. There's also a live sessions EP on iTunes that I
recommend. I first saw him perform at Austin City Limits Festival last
September and was completely charmed. I don't think that I was only one in
the audience that day who felt the same way. I'm really impressed by him and
hope he does well enough that he'll make people forget James Blunt (*tongue
planted in cheek*).
