I loved the first record and was drawn to the band because of Ian McDonald -
who was sacked shortly after, of course, as they went for the more
conventional arena rock band format. Once it was so obviously the Mick and
Lou show instead of a band I didn't feel the allegiance. I enjoyed many
singles since then, transcended my "all corporate rock sucks" period (which
of course involved unloading said vinyl - doh!) and now just look back and
enjoy the good songs for what they are. Of course since I moved to Lou
Gramm(atico)'s home town around 1981, I have probably had more Foreigner
shoved down my gullet than the rest of you.

cheers
