Are the Cocteau Twins considered an essential/influential indie act?
Their 4AD recordings (issued in the US on Capitol) were pretty defining
for me. Treasure is probably the album I'd pick as their most essential
release, but that's just my opinion.

Not that this is a feeble attempt to stop the Paula Kelly thread but...
I host a radio show called the "80's Underground"...and I'm toying
with the idea of doing a 2-hour special on the *essential* indie
rock albums of the 80s. I have my faves listed below, but I'd be
curious to hear from other fans (or fanatics) of the genre. I need
about 25-30 songs to fill the timeslot.

What are the essential/influential, must-own indie/underground albums
of the 1980's?
