I'm only getting about every third digest and I travel for work, so I'm
going to beat this dead horse one more time.

largro, your e-mail was eloquent and it would be great if we could all
get along. But I don't believe as you said that 'Paula was driven from
the group.'

She chose to leave. In my opinion she overreacted to some harmless
comments Rob made comparing the glasses that Kay Hanley was wearing to
Lisa Loeb's glasses, and she used that to get on a soapbox about women
in music. I visited her website over the weekend and this is CLEARLY a
huge issue with her. More power to her, and I think that there is
validity behind her concerns. Unfortunately her reaction to inequity in
the music industry seems very bitter and caustic. My opinion.

Although I didn't agree with some of the comments sent her way, it was
she who solicited the attention in a very vocal manner and when she
didn't garner overwhelming (or even, seemingly, underwhelimg) support
she used this to make generalizations to support her beliefs. Then she
quit. Again, that's my opinion. But that's all anyone can really offer
in these situations. By the way, my friend Ellen in on this list and she
only listens to Splitsville because she thinks we're cute.

Just seeing if you were paying attention.

On to the Police reforming. I remember some posts from a while back that
slammed the Police, so I know that this topic has legs. I gotta tell
you... I'm totally psyched to see them live. I was such a huge Police
fan as a kid, and I still would love Splitsville to make an album that
emulates the feel of a Ghost in the Machine or Synchronicity. Now,
please.. flame on!!!
