Stuff That Recently Popped Up on the iPod:
1. "The Blinding EP," Babyshambles. I know Pete Doherty is steady tabloid
fodder, but this is his best outing since the Libertines packed it in.
2. "Best Of (Disc 1)," Simple Minds. Just reminds me of how good these guys
were. "Someone, Somewhere in Summertime," and "Promised You A Miracle," were
such great tunes. Then they had to go and wreck it with "Once Upon A Time."
3. "Racket," Sneakers. Took the Missus to the Bowery Ballroom last week to
see The dB's, Mitch Easter and a special reunion by these Chapel Hill
stalwarts. Still love this stuff.
4. Dan Zanes, "Catch That Train." From the Del Fuegos to kiddie music. But
it's still cool.
5. C86 -- the original NME cassette, now in digital form.
6. The Tyde, Three's Company
7. Velvet Crush, Free Expression. -- Been going through something of a
Menck/Chastain renaissance of late. Been listening to this in tandem with
"Hey Wimpus."

Also, just got a package of three PopTones label releases I need to make my
way through. Includes offerings from Beachbuggy, The Bellrays and the Cosmic
Rough Riders.
