As great as Clem Burke is, I don't think he's quite the right fit for
Crowded House's pop stuff.
Also, as others have mentioned in response to Stewart's comment, as great as
Split Enz was, CH is Neil's baby, and although the album with Tim on it was
wonderful (Woodface), that wasn't a perfect fit. Another way to look at it
- Neil's reforming the band that played to 250,000 people in front of the
Sydney Opera House in their farewell show (which is soon out on CD and DVD).
While there were some personality clashes within the group, I think a lot of
that was brought on by their struggles to make as big a splash in the U.S.
as they did around the world. This seemed to really bother Neil and was
part of the band's original demise.
