I don't have any details, but it appears from The Rubinoos myspace that 
musician/singer/songrwiter/producer Gary Phillips has passed away.   He 
is best known as a member of Earth Quake, but has also played in The 
Greg Kihn Band and The Spitballs.   He has recorded with Jonathan 
Richman and The Modern Lovers, and has produced  The Rubinoos.

If anybody has more details, or can provide a better bio...

Anyway, sad news.
