Subject: mp3 Volume Leveling Software

hello, fellow music experts!

i'm looking for recommendations on a good volume-leveling software program.
i need something that can automatically bring my voluminous collection of
mp3's into a harmonious state of shuffle-dom.

i use i-tunes, which is SUPPOSED to perform its own leveling, with the
emphasis on SUPPOSED. i've tried tweaking individual tracks/albums with
i-tunes' gain slider, but i'm hoping there's a fantastic program out there
that can save me from paying individual homage to 5,000 songs.

any ideas? what works, what doesn't?

thanks!!

ned
