This psychedelic/pop/country combo from Austin is going on a Southwest tour.
They opened the Rainbow Quartz showcase at SXSW last year ; they signed with
RQ after Jim McGarry saw their showcase.
From their bio : The Summer Wardrobe has its own unique sound that draws
from a diverse panoply of influences. Their debut LP on Rainbow Quartz
evokes favorable comparisons to such artists as Rain Parade, Good Earth-era
Feelies, Tom Petty, and labelmates/fellow Austin underground heroes Cotton
Mather.

Review in the Wichita City Paper:

Between The Scourge of the Sea and The Summer Wardrobe, mid-80s underground
pop is in fine hands. Borrowing a page or two from The Feelies and Lloyd
Cole, this fine, subtle quartet adds intriguing T.Rex-inflected vocals to
tracks such as Sparkle and Fade and the absolutely attitudinal
Underground. But theres room to mix up country colors and space rays
(Redbook ) and to go surprisingly and strangely epic on Outcry in the
Barrio, Daisy Cutter and One More Try. If theres fault to be found
with The Summer Wardrobe it may be that the bands a little too subtle and
smart to find an overwhelmingly welcoming mainstream audience but methinks
that the boys know this by now. Great listening, great record.
