While it is one of the better AI cds to be released (and I have heard
most of them) for me my mileage differed a little.
There is still way too much AI sheen and cheese on Hicks CD for me to buy
the whole thing. I found about 4 or 5 songs (titles escape me now) that
I thought were up to par of his earlier self released CD.
I have a couple live concerts of his and the guy is talented. Here's hoping
he goes the way of Kelly Clarkson and does his own thing on his next album.
For me the standout tracks are the ones he wrote: Soul Thing and The Deal.
As for more blue eyed soul I have not been able to stop listening to James
Morrison. Not all "soul" but a great great album.
