Hello and Happy New Year from Dana & Carl and THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL
RADIO. Dana did another solo show this week, though I took the opportunity to
sit in with him for the first 75 minutes or so. And lemme tell ya, I consider
it the highlight of my long and illustrious radio career to have made this
guest appearance on Dana's show, THE MANY MOODS OF DANA BONN. And I got to do
it with BRAND-NEW music from Syracuse's own power pop powerhouse, THE
FLASHCUBES!
As you all know by now, the final scheduled edition of THIS IS ROCK 'N'
ROLL RADIO will air this Sunday, January 7th from 9 to midnight Eastern on
www.wxxe.org. The fate of our webcast will be decided at a station meeting that
afternoon; the results of that meeting will determine if this will be our
last show ever, or if we can forge ahead into our ninth year on the air. We
will make that announcement on Sunday's show. Cross them fingers, my people.
Then, no matter what, we're gonna count down our most-played tracks
from throughout the previous year. The annual countdown show is generally my
favorite show of the year; if this turns out to be our last such celebration, it
will still be a celebration nonetheless. Join us! Odds are pretty good
that it really will be THE BEST THREE HOURS OF RADIO ON THE WHOLE FRIGGIN'
PLANET! Thanks SO MUCH to the many folks who've stepped up with contributions to
save the webcast--you are collectively the Lane Steinberg benath our Paul
McCartney. Now dig the many moods of Dana Bonn.

[Note to those on the AUDITIES list: my apologies for the intrusion, but I
need to get the word out to as wide a base as possible. This is the
next-to-last time I'll post such a lengthy TIRnRR message to the list; after the
playlist for the countdown show, I'll return to bothering only those who wish to
receive the weekly playlists. And YEAH, I'm presuming there'll be more
playlists to send after next week. I'm made outta hope, I am.]
