I have to admit that, after the first five, I really
didn't have a good order -- I liked all of these
records. That said, here we go:
1. The Pipettes - We Are the Pipettes
Completely infectious modern girl group sounds,
spurred me to choreograph a go-go dance using best
single, 'Pull Shapes.'
2. Peter, Bjorn, and John - Writer's Block
A great big fuzzy warm indie pop record that sounds
better each time I listen.
3. The Hold Steady - Boys & Girls In America
The best E Street Band record in years. Grand. Epic.
Undeniable.
4. Doleful Lions - Song Cyclops, Vol. II
I'm ever impressed by the simultaneous weirdness and
delicate poignancy of Jonathan Scott's songs.
5. Goldfrapp - Supernature
The *sound* of this record is amazing. It knocks you
out, then you wake up on the dance floor.
6. Eleventh Dream Day - Zeroes and Ones
7. Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
8. Asobi Seksu - Citrus
9. Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
10. Camera Obscura - Let's Get Out of the This Country
11. Oxford Collapse - Remember the Night Parties
12. The Long Blondes - Someone to Drive You home
13. David and the Citizens - Until the Sadness Is Gone
14. Jolie Holland - Springtime Can Kill You
15. Hidden Cameras - Awoo
16. Catfish Haven - Tell Me
17. Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
18. Lullatone - Plays Pajama Pop Pour Vous
19. Razorlight - S/T
20. Tommy Keene - Crashing the Ether
