C'mon chaps, I enjoyed listening to the LEO album too, but surely we
aren't gonna have an "ELO tribute" voted as the _best_ album of 2006?
And a plain ol' covers album currently at #4 also .... what's going on here?
Anyway, each to their own I suppose - here's my list:
1. Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
2. Nines - Calling Distance Stations
3. Morning After Girls - Shadows Evolve
4. Innocents - Pop Factory
5. Sails - The Sails
6. Fratellis - Costello Music
7. Exploding Hearts - Shattered
8. Arctic Monkeys - Everything that people say I am ....
9. The Feeling - 12 Stops and Home
10. Mogwai - Mr Beast
11. Cheap Trick - Rockford
12. New York Dolls - One day it will please us ...
13. Winerys - Daily Urban Times
14. World Record - Guitars Forever
15. Supraluxe - Supraluxe
16. Chris Brown - Now That You're Fed
17. Outrageous Cherry - Stay Happy
18. The Toms - Simplicity
19. Minus 5 - Minus 5
20. Razorlight - Razorlight
21. Jensen Bell - Modern Dating Tips
22. Yo La Tengo - I am Not Afraid of You ....
23. Pernice Brothers - Live a Little
24. Blue Cartoon - September songs
25. David Mead - Tangerine
26. Handcuffs - Model for a Revolution
27. Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
28. Tommy Keene - Crashing the Ether
29. Zutons - Tired of Hanging Around
30. Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers
(I'm not sure about Minus 5 and Jensen Bell's entitlement to 2006 status
- if they don't qualify, remove them and elevate those below, ta)
Best Single Artist Comp: Josef K - Entymology
Best Various Artists Comp: International Pop Overthrow Vol. 9
Song of the Year: Innocents - Your Precious Touch
As usual I can't wait to see "The "Basher's" top 100 list - it usually
forms a big part of my musical shopping list in the new year (Happy New
Year y'all, by the way).
And finally, kudos to Mike Benne'tt for co-ordinating this - great job
as always, Mike.
