I totally agree, Matt. The Cavedogs are one of my all-time favorite bands. (Admittedly, I have lots.) They were one of the earliest posts at my newish blog, Powerpopulist.

http://powerpopulist.blogspot.com/2006/11/cavedogs.html

The post includes a link to The Cavedogs' website, which has lots of great mp3s of both live and studio music. Of course, if you like them, you've probably already been there but if not, you might want to check it out.

Well, as long as I'm crawling out from under my rock, I want to say how much I have enjoyed Audities and how much I appreciate all the great music you all have connected me with. And, okay, here are my top ten of the past fifteen years as well (alpha order).

The Apples in Stereo
The Cavedogs
Guided by Voices
The New Pornographers
The Posies
Richard X. Heyman
The Shins
Shoes
Skellington/Spoon (the B. Daniel's Skellington)
Velvet Crush
The Young Fresh Fellows

(Yeh, I know, but I plugged the list into Spinal Tap's amp.)

And it just hurts too much and I couldn't sleep tonight if I left out these that are so close I easily could have included any of them.

Cotton Mather
The Deathray Davies
The Embrooks
Game Theory
The Green Pajamas
Matthew Sweet
Myracle Brah
Polyphemus
Redd Kross
The Smithereens
Teenage Fanclub
Tripping Daisy

Dang, the fresh air's so invigorating, I can't shut myself up. So in case you missed it, the following song is one of the purest and most satisfying I heard in 2006. I posted on the p-bears here and here.

Swedish Polarbears - Worship This! mp3

Back to the rock.

Mike

How about the Cavedogs? Hard to beat the twofer of Joyrides for Shut-
Ins and Soul Martini from the early 90's. I know the band members
have gone on to various other groups and solo endeavors but I sure
wish the 'dogs would have put out a few more albums!

np: "On for the Ride"- cranking up the volume.
