I don't have much to add to the general discourse here but wanted to post
this because I think the audities influence is strong. Thanks for being
passionate about music and happy new year to all.

 New English EP
Artist: Ambulance LTD
Comments:
Great pop from a versatile band. It's different from 2004's "LP" but
because that album was so wide-ranging, this works perfectly in concert
with it.

Kicking The National Habit
Artist: Grand National
Comments:
Music to party by, if you like loud parties. I do. Has the added benefit
of having the best album title ever.

Hotel Lights
Artist: Hotel Lights
Comments:
Laid-back Wilco-ish alt-pop. I think one of the guys involved here
played drums for The Ben Folds Five, but again, this has more in common
with the various moods of Jeff Tweedy than it has with Ben Folds.

Puzzles Like You
Artist: Mojave 3
Comments:
Mojave 3 proves it can do more than stare at the tops of its sneakers. A
great pop record that grabbed me right away and rewarded repeated
listens.

Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
Artist: Neko Case
Comments:
Every time I listen to this I get a new favorite song. And I listen to
it a lot.

Adventures In The Underground Journey To The Stars
Artist: South (2)
Comments:
A definite love for the same stuff that influences the Pernice Brothers
(The Cure, Dumptruck) but this goes in a slightly different direction.
More soulful; less quiet.

Waiting for the Time To Be Right
Artist: The Brother Kite
Comments:
You'll hear alt-pop, Beach Boys, Beatles and a host of other references.
This gets the "shoegazer" label thrown at it, but there's not a lot of
downtempo stuff I associate with that label.

Dog Problems
Artist: The Format
Comments:
A fun listen, with dashes of Queen, show tunes and sunny-side-up pop
thrown in. If you're a fan of The 88, you will also love this.

Declare a New State!
Artist: The Submarines
Comments:
Electronic-based pop for lovers of male-female vocals. Alternately
spiritual, reflective and transcendent. You won't regret a single song.

Rabbit Fur Coat
Artist: Jenny Lewis With The Watson Twins
Comments:
Neat songs, incredible vocals. A slightly more soulful/roadhouse version
of Neko Case's "Blacklisted" to my ears.
