I posted my list a little while back but it didn't appear to send. Here are
my choices (with apologies if anyone gets it twice).
My initial top seven.
1/ The Nines / Calling distance stations
People have said they're not too keen on the McCartney-esque aspects of this
album, but for me the whole thing is absolutely fantastic.
2/ The Feeling / Twelve stops and home
Put on a great (but very short) live show. New album in the pipeline for
next year and the new songs they played the show sounded very good.
3/ The Format / Dog problems
A later-comer to this band. Excellent stuff. Try the song "snails" if
you've yet to be converted.
4/ LEO / Apalcas ogling
Good fun album with probably the most stupid name of the year.
5/ Linus of Hollywood - Triangle
Another thing I was late coming to. Rapdidly bought back catalogue.
6/ Roger Manning Jnr. / Lord of pure imagination
Next album in 2012 perhaps?
7/ Jon Auer / Songs from the year of our demise
Since he sold me the album in person - be rude to mention it.
... and for next year? Rob Gonazalez' album - due out 2nd Jan '07
.... Ed James may get an entry. Album is yet to arrive.
Happy Christmas
