I shall take this opportunity to remind people that the album I voted #1 for 2005, Goldfrapp's SUPERNATURE, got its U.S. release earlier this year, and thus could and should be embraced by all sensible people on this side of the pond in these here 2006 polls. Heck, it'd be my #1 of 2006 if I hadn't voted it my #1 of 2005.

Stewart, I'm very up for a hypothetical Nigella Lawson-fronted band, and it was very cool to see your endorsement of Be Your Own Pet, who've been the big local buzz here for over a year. I haven't quite warmed to them as much as I'd hoped to, and think the Yeah Yeah Yeah's are actually a good Siouxsie tribute band, but it's nice to be in the same ballpark. Speaking of local stuff, have you happened upon the Mattoid yet? And I'm really liking this year's Glossary album.

later,

Miles
