Under the radar?
Anyone heard the new EARL GREYHOUND? It's not really power pop...but
monstrous
big drum rock...a la Led Zep. Definitely something a little different this
year.

Also..
I haven't seen much chatter on the new FAGS record "Light Em Up". It's a
fun,
bombastic new power pop record.... full of hooks and musical sensibilities
of
Cheap Trick and other 80's guilty pleasures like 38 Special and Bryan Adams

Some other sleepers...
AS FAST AS (from Portland, Maine). Their debut "Open Letter to the Damned"
is
fantastic and upbeat w/ nods to Fountains of Wayne, The Rentals. Chek 'em
out!

One of my fave new releases on Rainbow Quartz is the new SAILS record from
the
UK. It's very elaborate, 60's inspired jangle w/ stacks of harmonies and big
props to the Hollies.

Also from the UK...
FIELDS have a great 7 song EP called "Seven From the Village". It's spacey,
moody, somewhat pastoral...but insatiably catchy and full-bodied. I think
they just signed to
Atlantic. A new full length should be out in 2007:
