i do love those albums, but i think his popularity was more due to his teenage girl audience and his, admittedly, good looks! My girlfriend STILL cannot get why I would even listen to his stuff, yet she can appreciate Sinatra and Bennett, etc....

Must be the melancholy feel which is in most of Scott's 60's work....
